Belated anti-Valentine’s Day poem
Moved on
Did you think I would languish
Heartsick and broken
When you said it was all over
You needed to move on
Did you think I would bore my friends
With tales of you
On the telephone all the time
When you said I was cramping your style
Holding you back
Did you think I would curl up and die
Listen to Billie Holliday
All day long
When you walked out that door
How could you not realise
As the earth’s revolutions are unceasing
You would not find me
At the place you left me
